Hair Care

Hair Care Hair care generally refers to care of the hair on the head – washing, styling, cutting, dyeing, straightening, curling, braiding. While it is possible, and quite common, for women – and men – to take care of their hair themselves, the number of hair salons on every main street in every small town indicates that many people like to have their hair cared for by professionals.

It may take a while to find the hair care professional who matches your likes and whims and needs. Once you find such a treasure, stick to him or her like glue. It is not unknown for client and hair-giver to become life-long friends.

Apart from the regular shampoo and set or blow-dry that many clients go for, regular cuts are a must. A good cut is worth its weight in gold. A good cut can change the shape of a persons face, removing inelegant lines, or awkward angles. For example, for a triangular face (big forehead and a pointy chin), a classic schoolboy cut - brushed forward, fuller on the sides with long bangs swept across the forehead - can soften things up.

A round face can be made to look narrower with a square cut like a flattop. An egg shaped or cone head needs length on top and added length above the ears. Leaving the hair up top longer than on the sides and adding in extra texture will soften a square jaw and an angular face. In other words, the right cut can greatly enhance even a poorly shaped face, and if you have found someone who can give you the right cut, make the most of them.

In addition to cutting and styling, a hair stylist offers other services. If you don’t like your natural color, a dye, tint or highlighting job can change your life. Straight hair can be curled by regular sessions under the dryer, or by a more long-lasting perm. Extra curly hair can be straightened, and long hair can be braided into elaborate plaits and twists.

Going to a salon is not the only way to have gorgeous hair. Much hair care can be carried out at home. Some home hair care tips include the following:

Don’t shampoo too often. Daily is too often, twice a week is ample. Change your shampoo frequently so that the hair doesn’t get used to just one. Don’t brush too much. Well cut hair needs little more than a comb through after washing. Let hair dry naturally: shiny, healthy and strong hair doesn't need or like heat. Have a regular trim to keep your hair well-shaped and to get rid of split. Only color when necessary as dyes can damage hair.

It is scientifically proved that eating well can make a huge difference to one’s appearance.

Vitamin supplement is an outstanding way to get healthier hair. It will be better if you ask a hair stylist and they will give you best possible ways to get shiny and healthy hair. A healthy diet rich in vitamins and nutrients can give you gorgeous hair and wonderful skin: lots of organic foods, loads of veggies and no red meat is one recommendation. Another very effective way is the use of Calcium and fish oils (omega 3 fatty acids) that will keep your hair strong and shiny.

Some women go with very short cuts as being the easiest way to manage their hair. Others go with the maxim that a woman’s hair is her crowning glory. In either case, a regular regimen of hair care, at home or in the salon, can give everyone a gorgeous and healthy head of hair.
